Equality Procedures
Paul Gough Physio Rooms Ltd is firmly committed to a service that is fair, equitable and one which values diversity as both a physiotherapy provider and an employer of people.
We firmly believe that EQUALITY is not about treating everyone the same, moreover we view equality as ensuring that access to the same service or opportunity is available to all, regardless of disability, age, gender, race or religion.
In order to achieve equality, we must recognise and take into account peoples differing needs and capabilities.
Two Examples of our Equality procedures:
- Disability – if you can’t get to us due to a disability or an injury, then we will bring a physio and a treatment table to you – at no extra charge. We do have facilities for disabled access to our service, but we also recognise that there may be situations or circumstances were even this is not sufficient. Thus, as part of our equality procedure we will endeavor to bring our service to you.
- Gender – For obvious reasons, which do not need be explained to us, you may decide that you wish to receive treatment from a physiotherapist of the same gender. Thus, we have both male and female physiotherapists available upon your request.
As an employer, we recognise a need for Diversity. We value differences through inclusion regardless of age, gender, religion and offer flexibility in our part time positions to take into account outside work commitments.
These values are also applied to our physiotherapy service and all of the previously mentioned apply to our patients, including the flexibility in our appointment times to make our service as accessible as possible.
Disability Discrimination Act:
As part of our commitment to the Disability Act of 1995, we will provide our physiotherapy service to an individual whose disability means that that they are unable to access our service due to any barriers that may be created by the building.
Disabled access is available at a clinic, however for the occasional circumstance when our building may not cater for your individual requirement, we will visit you at a convenient and accessible location, usually your home, and provide the same service and level of care that would be given in our clinic. The cost of this will not differ from that of the cost that would be incurred to you at our clinic based service.
