Our physiotherapy
We view physiotherapy as a health care profession that quite simply, aims to reduce pain and increase movement.
We use a range of methods and techniques such as massage, stretching, ultrasound and often we will use a technique used by chiropractors and osteopaths called manipulation. You don’t need to worry what they are (although we will always explain) moreover, be assured that they will undoubtedly help when we apply them to your injury.
Our treatment rooms are equipped with the latest in electrotherapy machinery which we will use when deemed necessary, but what you will find from us is a more hands on approach – what we like to call ‘Real Physiotherapy’. This means applying manual techniques such as deep tissue massage with our hands to provoke a healing response from your body. We do admit this is sometimes uncomfortable, but be assured that it is often the quickest and most effective means of returning you to a pain free condition.
As we constantly remind our patients and we sincerely hope that you agree, 30 minutes discomfort is better than three months of constant pain. Be assured that we aim to make your treatment sessions as fun and light hearted as possible and we may mention that although you might not enjoy what we do, when we’re finished and your pain has gone, we will again be on your Christmas card list!
