Coming Summer 2011... Physical Improvement Practice

The Physical Improvement Practice is an exciting feature of our physiotherapy service set to open in the summer of 2011 (we'd be happy to hear from you now though!)

A first class physiotherapy facility, providing top class neurological physiotherapy care:

  • 1:1 patient care and attention
  • Spacious, brand new and purposely designed gym and fitness centre (Fully disabled accessible and usable)
  • Every session given enough time to really make a difference (1 hour)
  • Dignity considered and ensured with 1:1 sessions
  • Patient and parent/carer interaction is encouraged
  • Experienced Physiotherapists

This practice is set to be a fully disabled accessible and purpose built practice/fitness centre. The Practice layout, features and equipment have been designed through discussion and consultation with potential able and less able bodied patients and their parents and carers. We have sought such opinions to ensure the maximum can be achieved for those who aspire to improve physical function and independence.

“Be inspired, be Independent”

Our Physical Improvement Practice offers a fun and effective way of promoting independence and aims to help with:

  • loss of balance
  • muscle spasm
  • reduced ability to walk
  • loss of co-ordination
  • reduced independence
  • Muscular hypertrophy
  • Lack of sense of fun/achievement/wellbeing
  • Modifications to allow a return to sporting activities
  • Keeping fit - a controlled and safe environment in which to increase your tolerance to activity
  • Teaching you and your carer the necessary exercises to help your future condition

These symptoms can be caused by a range of conditions such as: Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Quad Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, MS and Spinal Cord Injury (and more).

We are very interested in the symptoms of your condition; the effects of the Stroke or CP or brain injury which are possibly making everyday acts such as walking, reaching for objects, or climbing stairs, or even playing golf or football, now very difficult. The Practice is very functional and all aspects of your life will be considered when designing your Improvement Plan.

We will accept referrals from GPs, insurance companies, solicitors and case managers, and are expecting a large proportion of our patients to refer themselves directly to the Physcial Improvement Practice at Paul Gough Physio Rooms through a simple phone call or email.

The practice opens in the Summer of 2011, but we would love to hear from you anytime before hand should you be interested in utilising this service in the future.

A Word From Paul

Welcome to February, do you think we avoid the snow this year or is set to fall this month? This month we start a new contract to look after the staff of housing authority Coast & Country in the Guisborough area! We've settled nicely in the new physio practice, if you receive treatment from us in the Hartlepool area we're now at 25 Raby Road, keep an eye on it as your driving past!
...Whether you are a current patient of ours wanting to learn more about our team, or you have found us by accident and still deciding who to choose for your treatment, your interest in our practice is much appreciated. Hopefully you will find our web site informative and helpful, as well as fun. If you have any comments or suggestions about our practice, please contact me directly. paul@paulgoughphysio.com

Paul.
