A Warm Welcome to Laura and Nick

We are delighted to welcome and introduce two new key members of staff to the Paul Gough team.

While companies and businesses might be feeling the pinch, the Paul Gough Group has been positively growing!

Laura Mackey has been installed as Marketing Manager for the Physio Rooms, with Nick Loughlin appointed Editor of the Media business.

Both will work across Paul’s organisation, which has interests in fitness, physiotherapy, media and property from its bases in both Hartlepool and Florida.

“These are uncertain times for a lot of companies, but it’s also an opportunity,’’ said Paul.

“Businesses have been hit of late, and a lot of good people are available in the market place who wouldn’t normally be out there and that’s through no fault of their own. It’s an opportunity for business leaders to make the most of and I’m delighted to have both Nick and Laura on board.’’

Laura, who completed her internship at a Central London PR agency before graduating from Newcastle University, has spent seven years with a global manufacturing company in Peterlee.

She is busy already implementing new ideas and plans for the Physio Rooms and said: “Our four practices have re-opened and are really busy and it is an exciting time to be joining the business.

“After speaking to Paul, I saw the opportunities on a business and personal footing. His enthusiasm is infectious. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and see you in the clinic.’’

Nick moves after spending 27 years at The Northern Echo. He was Sports Editor from 1997-2020, before being appointed Teesside Editor at the start of this year and has covered around 2,000 Hartlepool United games over the years.

He said: “Paul used to write a fitness column for me back in the day and the opportunity to work for him is an exciting one.

“There’s positive plans in place here and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience as a journalist and editor to the team.’’
